Shabbat at AI

Join the AI family for a full Shabbat experience every week.

Welcome and join the Agudath Israel community - In prayer, in study and in acts of kindness.

As Abraham and Sarah kept the walls of their tent open so travelers could easily enter, at Agudath Israel we open our 'tent' to all interested in Judaism and help people find a comfortable and challenging place inside.

We value the wisdom and inspiration of Jewish tradition, but recognize the need for ongoing change within the parameters of the Conservative movement. Our members come from diverse religious backgrounds. Our programs and services for adults and children are rich and varied. Men and women participate equally in all aspects of the synagogue.More about us

INTRODUCING THE NEW YOUTH PROGRAM DIRECTOR ~ Emily Anzarouth

I am excited to join Agudath Israel as the new Youth Director! I recently graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Arts, Honours degree in Sociology. I grew up in Ottawa, attending Shabbat services at Agudath Israel regularly with my family and celebrated my Bat Mitzvah here in 2005. I was actively involved in both the Kadima and USY programs throughout elementary and high school, and over the past four years have acted as the Nursery Coordinator for the High Holidays. I am eager to see the Youth Department continue to grow and thrive! Catching up with the Fines!

2 Elul 5775 17 August 2015

Dear Family and Friends,

It is two years already since we moved from Ottawa, arriving in Israel for a new experience and a different view of life. If you have been following our reports, you know that much has happened to us and we can promise a great deal more will be happening.

We are becoming experts in navigating the health system, figuring out when to go to the clinic, not because we are ill but because it is time for some kind of test and it is organized through our G.P.s and then with specialists. Some of the examinations are not necessarily available in Netanya and we are sent either to a hospital in a neighboring community or to the big medical centers in Tel Aviv, which is always an adventure and an excuse to see different sections of the city. Arnie is presently organizing three tests, in a variety of places. We have met some very interesting people while waiting for our turns, the Hebrew word is Tor, with the physicians and other staff. We have been very impressed that we rarely wait beyond our appointed hour. Often, when we arrive early and the doctor, if free, looks after us immediately. The dental clinic functions in the same way. No complaints! READ MORE
