RABBI AVIVA FELLMAN

At age 8, Rabbi Fellman decided that she would like to be a rabbi. She went on to pursue this by graduating summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh, earning a master’s in Talmud and Jewish Law from Machon Schechter in Jerusalem; and, was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) in NYC in 2012. She currently serves as the Rabbi for Beth Israel Congregation in Worcester, Mass.

Dr. Gerald Steinberg

There will be two lectures.

Date of 1st Lecture:Thursday, May 28th at 7:45 p.m. at MachzikeiHadas

TOPIC: “ How to defeat the political war against Israel?”

Date of 2nd Lecture: Sunday, May 31  at 9:45 am at Agudath Israel

TOPIC: “How Human Rights are used as weapons against Israel and lessons learned from Operation Protective Edge.”

 “Expert on International Media Approaches to Israel”     Professor Gerald Steinberg combines several worlds. A highly respected academic, he has also been active in the development of government policy as an adviser to the Israeli Prime Minister’s office and to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Steinberg is a professor of Political Science, and founder of the Program on Conflict Management at Bar Ilan University. He established and leads the NGO Monitor, invaluable in tracking and assessing international media approaches to Israel and the movement to de-legitimize Israel. Professor Steinberg has his finger securely on the day-to-day pulse and realities of Middle East politics and is well known as a dynamic and thought provoking speaker whose sometimes unorthodox ideas educate and inform on all the relevant issues in the Middle East.

YOUTH and FAMILY PROGRAM COORDINATOR  

Agudath Israel Congregation is looking for a Youth and Family Program Coordinator to begin work this summer. This is a part-time position. Responsibilities will include the continuation of our kehillah’s existing on-going and special programs, and to develop and enrich new youth and family programming. Experience in shul life and working with children and young families a strong asset. Regular presence and attendance on Shabbat and holidays required to supervise youth services and programs.
